☞ DETAILS:
Come and celebrate ☆EUROPEAN ART CINEMA DAY☆ with Lost in Frenchlation’s exclusive Premiere Screening of French movie ‘Gagarine’ subtitled in English! Just as Ladj Ly’s 2019 “Les Misérables” probed the racially-charged tensions between Parisian officers and its lower classes, “Gagarine” explores an underrepresented slice of recent French history through a personal lens.

☞THE MOVIE:
Yuri, 16, has lived all his life in Gagarin Towers, a vast red-brick housing project on the outskirts of Paris. He dreams of becoming an astronaut. When plans to demolish Gagarin Towers leak out, Yuri joins the resistance. With his friends Diana and Houssam, he embarks on a mission to save their home, which has become his “starship.” - Synopsis
“Gagarine” manages to import a coming-of-age dynamic into a rich, historically significant milieu, which bemoans the end of one chapter in the country’s history even as it finds some measure of hope in a new generation. - Indie Wire

☞THE PLAN:
The screening will take place at L’Entrepôt cinema, our new partner cinema in the heart of the 14th, on Sunday, November 8th, at 6PM.

Covid-19 era sanitary measures, drawn up by French health authorities, include the obligatory wearing of masks, one empty seat between separate groups of spectators, the cleaning of the theatre at least twice a day, and buying your ticket online is recommended.
