World Music Day

World Music Day, la Fête de la Musique in French, is a day of celebration of music that takes place every year on June 21, the first day of summer, as well as synonymous with the summer solstice. It’s a day when people around the world come together to celebrate music in all its forms. World Music Day was created in 1982 by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang and since then it has become a highly anticipated annual event in many cities around the world.

The World Music Day is important because it highlights local musical talent and promotes musical diversity.
