The Joséphine Baker swimming pool opened its doors in July 2006, 4 years after the creation of Paris Plages. This atypical swimming pool is a real spot located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. What makes it special is that it is directly on the Seine, floating on the latter it offers a panorama of the Seine, the monuments and simply Paris.
In addition to a 25-meter sports pool (open to the sky on sunny days), the swimming pool also includes a 500m² solarium accessible in summer.
From the 19th and 20th centuries a tradition was born, that of swimming on the Seine. The Joséphine Baker swimming pool makes it possible to perpetuate this tradition. Indeed, floating pools took place on the river. Subsequently, the population became aware of the pollution of the Seine and filtering systems were integrated into the floating pools and subsequently stopped using the water from the river.
This swimming pool offers you an exceptional aquatic space in Paris, with its 4 lines of water available day and night until 10 p.m., thus immersing you in an extraordinary atmosphere in the very heart of Paris.
