Muséum de Bordeaux - Sciences et Nature
The Muséum de Bordeaux - Sciences et Nature is located in the heart of the Jardin Public, in the Hôtel de Lisleferme, an 18thᵉ century building completely renovated between 2008 and 2019. It offers an immersive experience around biodiversity, wildlife and the natural sciences. This family and educational museum, labeled a Musée de France, is as much for children as for students and the curious of all ages.
Collections and tours
The museum features an extensive collection of naturalized specimens, fossils, marine animals, insects and minerals. Highlights include a suspended blue whale skeleton, the elephant Miss Fanny, and interactive modules on evolution. Temporary exhibitions and multimedia displays accompany the permanent tour, enriched by educational workshops, shows and guided tours.
Rates, accessibility and students
Accessible and adapted to visitors with disabilities, the museum features elevators, ergonomic furniture and inclusive tours. It is particularly popular with students for its scientific approach and very affordable rates. Young people under 26 benefit from a reduced rate, and free visits are offered on the first Sunday of the month, except during the summer vacations.
