Bordeaux University
Université de Bordeaux is a public generalist research university based in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. With over 54,000 students, including some 6,000 international ones, it stands out for its disciplinary richness, international dimension and commitment to research excellence. It employs more than 3,200 teaching and research staff, and is one of the institutions awarded the Initiative d'excellence (Idex) label.
Campus and training
The university is spread over several sites: Talence, Pessac, Gradignan, Bordeaux center, as well as Dax, Périgueux, Agen and Arcachon. It offers courses in law, health, science, technology, economics, management, literature, languages, humanities, social sciences and politics. Over 50 international courses are offered, including 23 double degrees.
Student life and research
Student life is dynamic, with some 175 associations active in cultural, sporting, social and environmental fields. Campus facilities include university libraries, CROUS restaurants, health centers, social services and support for students with disabilities. The university is developing an ambitious research policy through its doctoral schools, laboratories of excellence and European projects.
