Jardin Vauban - Lille (Vauban-Esquermes district)
The Jardin Vauban is an English landscape park laid out in 1863 on the former bed of the Deûle river. Situated at the foot of the Lille Citadel, it extends over approximately 3.5 hectares. It features winding paths, open lawns, a pond with swans and ducks, an artificial grotto with waterfall and a picturesque rotunda. The puppet theater "Le P'tit Jacques", housed in a former chalet, regularly animates the site for children.

The Jardin Vauban is a popular spot for students, especially from neighboring universities and schools. Picnics, open-air readings, group games and photo sessions are all easily organized here. In summer, the park comes alive with street musicians, jugglers and improvised shows. Its romantic, tranquil atmosphere also attracts walkers and families.
