The Marché de Wazemmes is one of the liveliest and most colorful in France. Located around the Place de la Nouvelle-Aventure, it combines indoor and outdoor stalls in a popular, multicultural atmosphere. You'll find a wide variety of products: fruit, vegetables, cheeses, meats, flowers, clothes, everyday objects, as well as culinary specialties from all over the world.
The market is in full swing on Sundays, with almost 400 traders and up to 50,000 visitors. The atmosphere is bubbling with families shopping, students brunching or hunting for bargains, and cafés spilling out onto the sidewalks. It's also an ideal place to discover exotic products at affordable prices, or to put together a meal to share with flatmates.
Marché de Wazemmes is easily accessible by public transport or bicycle. It is completely pedestrianized and accessible to people with reduced mobility. The covered market hall is open every day except Monday, while outdoor markets are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and especially Sunday mornings.
