Paris Catacombs: monumental ossuary and underground tour
The Catacombs of Paris form a site unique in the world: an ossuary several kilometers long set up in former quarries, 20 meters underground. Located in the 14ᵉ arrondissement, they house the remains of over six million Parisians transferred at the end of the XVIIIᵉ century for sanitary reasons.
